Photography, for Manon, has always been a vehicle rather than a destination — a way of getting close to what it means to be human. She began with portraiture, drawn to the particular honesty of the body at rest, and quickly developed a practice rooted in identity, physical transformation, and the relationship between selfhood and representation.
She holds a Master's degree from the University of the West of England, where she completed Altered, her award-winning series examining people who have undergone life-changing bodily change. Her work has been exhibited internationally — at the Saatchi Gallery, the Jewish Museum London, Belfast Exposed Gallery, and beyond — and featured in publications including the British Journal of Photography, Vogue Australia, and Aesthetica. She received the British Photography Award in 2021, the Feature Shoot Emerging Photography Award, and the Monochrome Award.
Compelled to explore the same questions through moving image, she began making films in 2021. Her debut feature documentary, Two Strangers Trying Not to Kill Each Other, co-directed with Jacob Perlmutter and produced with Final Cut for Real, premiered at CPH:DOX in 2024 and has since screened at festivals across Europe and North America. It won the Grierson Award for Best Arts and Music Documentary and holds a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. It is now in theatrical release in the UK, the US, and Canada.
