Meet me Where I am is a durational project, connecting a community of artists whose work engages with movement and physical contact, whilst leaning into the discomfort and challenges of achieving virtual intimacy.

This process is a working through of our collective grief of physical connection and shared space, exposing our discomfort in a global trend towards virtual connectivity. However, rather than rejecting this shift, Meet me Where I am seeks to engage creatively with the ways that we can connect virtually and welcome with that technology's faults and failures.

Led by movement director, Susanna Dye and photographer, Manon Ouimet, the project takes form through a series of group workshops and choreographic and compositional tasks, set weekly, to transform the relationship people have with the spaces they are confined in, and through this, to transform their ‘internal’ worlds- opening space for multi-sensory encounters, play and curiosity in the present moment, and what it has to offer.

Task 1 - Human in the Space

Find different positions to occupy in your space. How do you want to interact with each new surface or object? What mood, or way of being does each space invite?

Task 2 - Make it Unfamiliar

How can you make these positions unfamiliar, escaping from habitual ways of being in your space?

Task 3 - Body/ Space Dialogue

Enter into a physical dialogue with these spaces, surfaces and objects, offering from your own desire to bring certain qualities of movement, and exploring where your curiosity lies in this sensory exchange.

Task 4: Object Duet

Create a duet with an object. Explore it’s material qualities - the sounds it makes, whether it is solid or yielding, where you position yourself in relation to it, how it moves and how it prompts you to move in response.

Task 5: Space Disruption

Explore movements that disrupt, disorder and dismantle your space

Task 6 : Observation

Observe, name and create a physical encounter with 4 objects from a fixed position in space

Task 7: Self Regulation

Explore virtual eye contact and self regulating touch, arriving and completing this with three breaths
